Rathbone No2 R2VSM 'Relic' Acoustic Guitar
Rathbone No2 R2VSM 'Relic' Acoustic Guitar
Introducing the Rathbone No.2, a stunning acoustic guitar featuring the classic 'Orchestra Model' body shape. Originally designed to entice banjo players in dance orchestras to switch to steel-stringed guitars, this beautiful body shape is now a well-loved choice for guitarists of all styles and abilities.
The Rathbone R2VSM boasts a solid Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, producing a sweet and mellow vocal tone that is warm and inviting. The top of the guitar features a beautiful burst finish that blends deep browns and reds with warm oranges, enhanced by subtle relicing for an authentic, vintage aesthetic.
Despite the 'OM' body shape not being particularly large, it was designed for use in a specific environment, and its long scale length was found to produce a powerful and dynamic tone. The Rathbone No.2 follows in this tradition, with a neck that joins the body at the 14th fret and a modern scale length for enhanced tonal response and punch.
Crafted from high-quality materials, this acoustic guitar features a Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard and bridge, wood binding, and bone nut and saddle. The machine heads are open-gear chrome for smooth and precise tuning, and the guitar is finished with a satin lacquer for added protection and durability.
